Grace Olapeju Otinwa is a Professor of Exercise Physiology in the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Lagos. She has 35 years of teaching and leadership experience in higher education of which 29 years are at the University of Lagos. Grace obtained B.Ed degree, Physical & Health Education (ABU Zaria); M.Ed and PhD, Exercise Physiology (UI, Ibadan). Prof. Otinwa attended training at Soochow University China; and, received other trainings in leadership as organized by : Kennesaw State University, USA & UNILAG; ISO 9001: 2015 QMS Lead Auditor Course in Service Delivery, Kenya and Women for Africa (Spain) Leadership in a Technological Era for Female Professors in UNILAG at Imperial College and Cranfield University, United Kingdom respectively. Her education, experience, and exposure throughout her personal and professional life have helped to hone her skills in strategic management, educational development, and leadership, which are invaluable for academic leadership.

Within this period, Grace has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducted and supervised undergraduate research projects; master projects, and completed Ph.D theses while others are in progress. She has several publications to her credit: public lectures, authored/ co-authored books, contributed chapters in others, and published articles in national and international journals.

She has rendered consulting services; attended and delivered many international and national presentations and papers in different countries. She has served in over 80 leadership and administrative positions. She is an external examiner to notable universities within and outside Nigeria. Prof. Otinwa served on the Governing Council of Bowen University, and currently on the Management Board of some academic and non-academic organizations such as the Chairman, Education Management System Standard of International Organization for Standadization (ISO) and also a member of notable professional organizations. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Sports Science and Medicine and a Fellow of the Institute of Security of Nigeria.

She has served as the Head, the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education. She is the immediate past Director, Quality Assurance & SERVICOM, Office of the Vice-Chancellor UNILAG. Prof. Otinwa is the immediate past African Regional Vice President of the International Council for Health Physical Education, Recreation Sports and Dance (ICHPER·SD) and the former Secretary of the association. Her strong academic credibility, intellectual curiosity, energy and relentless drive for excellence have won her numerous prestigious prizes and awards. She is a five-time recipient of the Faculty of Education Best Researcher award; ICHPER SD Leadership awards, award for Outstanding Contributions, Merit, Visionary & Leadership award Distinguished Administrator, as well as fellowship awards. She is married and blessed with children. She is a mentor and living a life of impact.She is a lover of God and enjoys reading, singing and keeping fit. To God be all the glory.
